The objective of the local league shall be to provide competitive baseball through the development and operation of a supervised baseball program for 8 to 18 year olds. It is our belief that every child with a desire to play baseball be afforded that opportunity and will seek to develop and promote the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and reverence in our youth. Fargo Babe Ruth believes that kids come first!
Babe Ruth Baseball is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to developing better citizens by providing properly supervised baseball competition for 8 to 18 year old players. Incorporated in 1951, there are now 8,500 leagues and 51,000 teams in the United States and Canada.
The objective of the local league shall be to provide competitive baseball through the development and operation of a supervised baseball program for 8 to 18 year old youth residing in the Fargo School District. This organization will seek to develop and promote the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and reverence in the youth of this local. The supervisors shall bear in mind that the modeling of future adults is of primary importance and attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary.
Fargo Babe Ruth League, Inc. strives toward serving the need of all youth regardless of income level. It is the policy of Fargo Babe Ruth League, Inc. that no individual 18 years and younger that is a current resident of Fargo for at least 90 days and lives within the school district of the city of Fargo, shall be denied participation in the baseball programs sponsored by Fargo Babe Ruth League, Inc. due to financial inability to pay the program fees. Partial and full scholarships are available. All scholarship information is kept confidential.
There will be no use of any tobacco products, alcoholic products, or illegal drugs prior to or during any Babe Ruth practices or games. Violation of this rule will result in immediate dismissal from the organization. This rule applies to players, coaches/managers, and umpires.
